The Berkel model 22UK flywheel slicer was produced by Berkel & Parnall's Slicing MC.MFG.Co.LTD in the factory of Enfield factories in Middlesex - England from 1928 to 1948. It features a sharpener identical to that of the Berkel model 8h European with detachable, automatically pressured grinders, and uses a sliding plate that can be moved automatically and by hand where a fully open articulated arm is mounted for a secure and stable grip on the meat to be sliced with the opposing columns. The sliding carriage is mounted on the left side on automatically lubricated guides, and has a stroke of 320 mm. The Berkel model 22UK flywheel slicer features a helical gear unit with a protective box, a snap-on slice guard and a worm screw cover. The slice thickness can be adjusted to 14 different positions and a 370 mm blade is used. The Berkel model 21UK slicer is operated by a closed flywheel with the writing “Berkel & Parnall’s Slicing machine Mfg. Co. Ltd Enfield Mdsx”. All metal parts are originally chromed, in addition to the use of special stainless steels especially in the parts in direct contact with the meat and the salt contained therein, also preserving the machine in its characteristics of freshness over time and use. It was originally painted and is restored in the colors red black and ivory. On the back of the slicer there is a support that contains a glass used for protection during use by customers or in any case by anyone who approaches or is not the operator. It requires a support of 360 mm. Width – 615 mm. length It has a net weight of 140 kg. Like almost all slicers produced by the renowned company, it was possible to have its original pedestal in the supply as an option. The restoration is carried out at the laboratories of "The World's Best Slicers" respecting the principle of conservation of the parts. Providing for the disassembly and recovery without any replacement of the worn or broken parts, carrying out a material resurfacing by welding and subsequent milling or turning of the parts to be able to bring them back to their original dimensions and functionality. For the missing parts, original spare parts are used acquired from the production plants or from incomplete slicers. The painted parts, which have first been stripped by cryo-stripping and carefully prepared, are painted using new generation paints that comply with health and pollution regulations and reformulated in the correct shade of color used in the past. The decorations are strictly carried out by applying copal paint decals, avoiding any type of mystification, such as airbrush decorations, stickers or any other type of fantasy decoration. Each restored slicer is delivered with an Official Certificate of Originality and Guarantee.
