The flywheel slicer Berkel model 21 was produced by Berkel & Parnall's Slicing MC.MFG.Co.LTD in the Enfield factories in Middlesex - England. from 1928 to 1938, like the rest of the English production, this model of flywheel slicer was also built for cutting large products, mainly Bacon. The aesthetics of the slicer, such as the connecting rods inside the body of the slicer itself. The shoulder, also rounded, houses the sharpener inside which remains protect during normal operation of the slicer, but is extracted when sharpening the blade which is in diameter of 370 mm . The slice thickness regulator with the possibility of giving 14 different thicknesses of adjustment is located on the right side of the body of the machine. The arm for fixing the product to be cut is with two round columns placed parallel to the blade, one in front of the other with rapid sliding. The flywheel is completely closed with a stud in the central part with the manufacturer's logo. The Berkel model 21 UK has a total weight of 122 kg and measures 780 mm. in width and 1020 mm. in depth. The special feature of this series of slicers is a glass protection in the rear part for hygiene reasons. This slicer was produced for the exclusive use by placing it on work benches and its original pedestal was not produced.
